CCITT X.2 L3 Subscription Options
Subscription options are those options which apply to your line on a long
term basis.
When requesting a UK line, the customer would normally fill in an application
form which allows the customer to choose the options.
This information is entered into the network management computers using a
number of 'table build programs'. These 'tables' are then loaded into the network
so that the network will operate in accordance with the users requirements.
These options will then continue to remain in force unless overridden by new
Table build information. The subscription options cannot be changed directly
by the customer.
CCITT have specified a number of subscription options in a standard called
X.2. These options are listed in section 3 with information about the degree
of support for these features offered in Suppliers equipment.
Subscription Option - On-line facility registration
Description of Option
This facility will be supported on X.25 dial (X.32) lines only.
This facility, if subscribed to, permits the DTE to request registration of
facilities or obtain current values of facilities. This is done by means of
registration request packets and registration confirmation packets.
For the X.25 dial (X.32), the interface will allow DTE identification, When
the X.25 dial (X.32) interface receives a registration request packet carrying
the identification information of the DTE, which includes a network username
and password, and if it is valid the X.25 dial (X.32) interface will provide
the identified DTE service for this switched access link.
This facility is not supported on UK(a).
The following support is provided on UK(b) from release 5:

Test plan and implementation issues
None - since its not supported.
If it is supported in future releases we would have to work out how to charge
for it.
